Read more...
For people who can’t read French, here’s a quick summary of this post:
Show ▼
- I didn’t have much expectations about K-ON! (but still looking forward to), I just wanted a nice little slice-of-life comedy just like the 4koma : something I can enjoy after a long day of work and on this point, it lives up to my expectations.
- I understand why people have extremely high (or low) expectations about K-ON! but listening to people who have read the 4koma when they say to lower them would have been a good idea. I think that all this hype actually disserved the series more than it helped it.
- Sometimes I don’t understand why people who can’t stand KyoAni/moe/comedy/slice-of-life feel the need to watch it just for the sake of trolling KyoAni/[...]. It’s even worse when people don’t even watch the show but still flame it on forums with arguments coming from what they read on various Anime blogs.
- The trolling on Tokyotosho was retarded.
- KyoAni/[...] fanboys should accept that there are people who won’t like it for various and good reasons. So please don’t start accusing people just because they say “Sorry but I don’t like because it’s not my cup of tea”, especially if they don’t say that it’s actually bad. On the other hand, people claiming it’s the cancer that’s killing Anime Industry don’t deserve the same tolerance.
- I think I can understand why people are comparing K-ON! with Lucky Star or various slice-of-life/comedy animes but I think it would be better to let the K-ON! girls stand on their own. Give a chance to the series and its adorable heroines to create their own identity instead of hastily categorizing them. I’m fine with Manabi Straight comparisons tho, at least when it comes to the premise not the characters.
- Original 4koma is decent, it has very good part but don’t expect a revolutionary manga. It’s just a light-hearted slice-of-life with comedy elements.
- 4koma readers should be pleased by KyoAni adaptation.
- I’m not a big fan of the new chara-design by KyoAni, I’d have prefered to have the original one. And yeah it looks like A-1 (Kannagi) style more than KyoAni (except for Clannad AS 20).
- Art is nothing to write about, some very good frames, some others were simply bad. I’m no Artefact so I won’t make a scandal if some frames are ugly while the overall episode is more than decent (actually I think it’s really cute). Btw animation is good, remember art != animation.
- The girls are very cute, my favourites so far are obviously Mio (how original…) and Tsumugi (it’s hard to not write Tsugumi ~) and from the 4koma : The teacher who is just awesome. Oh and Yui is insanely cute, I couldn’t help but stare at her pantyhose, does that make me a guy with a fetish for legs?
- New seiyuu are doing a fine job here, I like to hear some new voices once in a while.
- OP and ED were pleasant at most but they’ll eventually grow on me sooner or later.
- tl;dr a cute series about cute girls doing cute things, I’m sold. It entertains me, I won’t ask for more.
- Good luck to all those who will blog K-ON!
- Pardon my English.
Yeah I know I’m just stating the obvious but it seems that people tend to forget simple things very quickly when it comes to fandom. I’m kinda tired of all the KyoAni hate and worship, K-ON! won’t bring a revolution to the Japanese Animation but it’s not the fabled cancer that’s killing it either.
I must say I’m impressed about all this drama after just one episode but that was to be expected.
