Better stay at home watching animes heh.

No post last week because I was damn lazy (and quite busy with work) to translate my Touhou retrospective (Sorry guys it’s in French, I should have chosen another internship).

Anyway let’s talk again about the shows I managed to watch these last weeks.

Number of episodes seen in brackets/parentheses (you choose):

  • Hidamari Sketch x365 (3): Following the steps of the first season, a very solid series, I find this remarkable since adapting a 4koma slice-of-life material into animation is no easy task, Lucky Star did it well and so does Hidamari Sketch. Speaking of Lucky Star, people tend to make comparisons between the two series with HS being an inferior version of LS, well you can’t blame them for that.
  • Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto ~Natsu no Sora~ (3): The first series failed to leave me a durable impression but this one was a nice surprise. It’s too early for me to give my opinion, from what I’ve seen so far it’s a very decent slice of life but I prefer to wait before saying if it’s a solid show or not even if I trust Hal Film Maker who already gave us wonderful slice of life animes like Aria (man I should really write a post about Aria). The realistion is quite special, the background are gorgeous and photorealistic but the moving elements (i.e: the characters) seems a bit off sometimes.
  • Sekirei (3): Well there was all these complaints about the cheap fanservice, the girls’ bust size, etc… meh what did you expect? I had fun watching the first episodes but I don’t think I’ll keep on with it, not my cup of tea. Watch it if you like Ikkitousen, oppai or if you want a good reason to turn off your brain and don’t expect too much of the story.
  • Xam’d lost memories (2): Easily the most promising show of this summer. I didn’t know about this show until some guy harassed me while I was at work “hey you must watch this, it’s prolly the best show for this season” -MSN is bad for my productivity…-, a bit skeptical because it’s been a while since I received a good recommendation from my friends but sometimes it’s really worth. Interesting premise with a good realisation, a solid series from BONES and maybe this summer best show.
  • Slayers Revolution (3): It’s Slayers, period.
  • Ryoko’s Case Files (2): Detective anime with a bit of some mystery/supernatural stuff, I heard that the story was very interesting so I’ll give it a try. It seems that the Ryoko character is popular among the male audience, she sure is quite something and gives us some nice fanservice.
  • Birdy the Mighty Decode (1): Second good recommendation I got, a lot of fun from the action scenes, I liked how Birdy did some real overkill on Tsutomu. Plus a guy sharing a sexy dynamite girl body that sounds promising kukuku.. <insert perveted thoughts>.
  • Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu (3): For Mamiko Noto’s fans, otherwise it’s just your random love comedy although I find it superior to most of them, maybe because of Haruka; you know the anime nerd dream girlfriend.
  • Stroke Pantsu Strike Witches (3): Please don’t make me talk about it, it’s been hard enough for me to watch the three first episodes… Anyway lolis are not my thing, I hate kemonomimis -exception: rabbit ears- and I don’t find mecha-musume appealing at all so maybe I’m a bit biased but let’s just say I’m not cut for that kind of shows.
  • Telepathy Shoujo Ran (3): Decent show but this was way too cheesy and naive for me, thinking of dropping this. Not really bad, it just doesn’t stand out, your random animu if you have time to spare.
  • Blade of the Immortal (1): Honestly I didn’t expect anything, can’t say I like Beetrain but it wasn’t as bad as I thought I would be, everything was decent EXCEPT FOR THIS FUCKING MUSICS, my ears were bleeding hard that’s something I really hate from Beetrain.

wow that’s a lot of episodes to watch in a few weeks! I’m pretty behind watching the new shows, I’ve only seen a couple of the ones you listed…but natsu no sora seems like it should be good…what about natsume yuujinchou, did you watch that yet? (I liked it)

Haven’t watched Natsume Yuujinchou yet but I’ve read the manga up to volume 2 because of a friend who was looking for a place to buy the mangas (japanese edition) in France so I got curious and checked it.

But yeah I’ll watch it when I’ll have some free time, prolly this week-end or next week but thanks for the recommendation :)
